Don’t Wait for Your Dream Home! Here are 4 Benefits to a Quick Move-In
At Hopper Communities, we build townhome communities that are beautifully designed, thoughtfully planned, and located in the most desirable locations in Charlotte and Davidson, NC.
We offer quick move-in options for people who are eager to move as soon as possible, as well as some homes being finished in just a few months. These move-in ready homes are located in our most popular communities in Charlotte neighborhoods like the Historic West End, Lower South End, Belmont, North End, Barclay Downs, and the charming college town of Davidson. You could schedule a tour and be in your new home by summer.
Curious about the advantages of a quick move-in? Here are four benefits that should be on your radar during your home search.
1. Lock In an Interest Rate
When you buy a new build, there’s a chance that the mortgage rate could increase during the months before you close. With uncertainty around the future of interest rates, you may not want to wait eight months or more to see where rates land as your new build wraps up. With a quick move-in, you’ll lock in the rate as soon as you go under contract.
2. Move In Right Away
Is there anything better than finding a home you love and then closing within 60 days? There’s instant gratification when you can move in right away rather than waiting months or even up to a year for construction on your new build to finish — and you still get those shiny new floors and that never-been-lived-in feeling.
3. Turn Over the Decisions to Someone Else
Planning a move can be a quick path towards decision overload. From the huge life decision of settling on where you want to live to choosing which mover you’ll hire to simply thinking about whether you want to keep, donate, or toss an item before packing it, there are countless large and small decisions to make every single day. At some point, you just want someone else to take the reins.
When you purchase a quick move-in, the major decisions have already been made. You don’t need to think about whether you want matte black finishes or if you prefer one quartz countertop versus another. Somebody has already decided on the floor plan, the colors, and the finishes — all you have to do is move into a shiny new home.
4. Enjoy a Professionally Designed Home Without the Lead Time
Working with an interior designer will result in a beautifully decorated and thoughtfully designed home, but there’s often a long lead time. Everything from paint colors to finishes takes time, and it could be months or longer before you’re relaxing in your stunning new space. But, when you buy a quick move-in home, it’s already done. Hopper Communities works with professionals on luxury interior design and stylish finishes and selections for each of our townhome communities.
From gleaming kitchens to rooftop terraces to master bedrooms, you’re getting a magazine-worthy space without the wait.

6 Tips for Choosing the Perfect Community in Charlotte
When you’re looking into home buying and exploring real estate in Charlotte, NC, the most important factor is finding the perfect community for you. There are beautiful townhome communities everywhere from Lower South End to North End, Myers Park to Historic West End, Davidson to Belmont, and each one is right for a different buyer.
Not sure where to start when you’re faced with a diverse set of choices? Here are six tips to help you find the perfect townhome community in Charlotte and start finding the place you’ll set down roots, make friends, and establish memories for years to come.
Reflect On Your Priorities
Everyone’s must-have list looks different. Spend some time writing down your list of non-negotiables and nice-to-haves. Maybe an expansive rooftop terrace means more to you than walkability. Perhaps your top concern is public transportation, while your minimalist decor means square footage moves lower down the list. You might care most about restaurants or nightlife just outside your front door, or you want somewhere for your dog to run. Reflect on your priorities, and create an honest list of what matters most to you as you tour communities throughout Charlotte.
Look at Proximity to Transportation and Access to the City
In Charlotte’s best neighborhoods, the LYNX light rail can get you around town in a flash. LoSo Terraces in Lower South End is right by the Scaleybark stop, while 5West Terraces is right by the Wesley Heights stop on the CityLYNX Gold Line.
The Nolen Townes is a five-minute drive to the heart of Charlotte, while the North End Terraces in the North End is a straight shot due south on N. Graham St. into Uptown, giving you a quick outlet to all the city of Charlotte has to offer.
Easy access to major highways like the I-277 loop from communities like the Towns at Pegram in Belmont, is perfect for commuters who want the laid-back, vibrant neighborhood charm of Charlotte’s unique and bustling enclaves but still want an efficient commute.
And, if you prefer the quiet of Davidson, look at Davidson Walk, where you get the experience of a small, historic, college town, but with quick access to I-77, which brings you into the city in 30 minutes.
Consider Activities Nearby
Are you someone who loves to try out new restaurants, nightlife, and foodie spots? Then moving to 5West Terraces in Charlotte’s Historic West End might be the perfect spot for you. You’ll fill your weekends exploring restaurants, breweries, and bars, like Rhino Market or Blue Blaze Brewing, or hitting a concert at the Fillmore Charlotte. And, during the week, you can find the perfect coworking spot at Savona Mill or go for a run at Frazier Park.
Do you love the ability to run outside, enjoy the beauty and green space of parks, and find peace and calm in your own surroundings? You should look at The Nolen Townes near Myers Park, where green space is all around you. You’ll also enjoy fitness studios, like Charlotte Yoga and Caroline Barre & Core, as well as restaurants like Velvet Taco and Brazwells Pub. Meanwhile, North End Terraces are right next to Charlotte’s Arts District, NODA and adjacent to Camp North End. Don’t miss neighborhood favorite restaurants Leah & Louise and Plant Joy or grab a beer at Free Range Brewing.
Towns at Pegram is a stone’s throw from Charlotte’s sparkling skyline, but you’ll have proximity to the charm of the Belmont neighborhood, including Sweet Lew’s BBQ, Birdsong Brewing Co., and the neighborhood’s regular stand-up comedy shows. And, if you love getting out and about, LoSo Terraces’ prime location in the Lower South End puts you steps from the action, including Queen Park Social, Rally Pickleball, Red Clay Ciderworks, and The Olde Mecklenburg Brewery.
For a quieter pace of life, look at Davidson Walk. In this college town community, you’re close to the small town Main Street, as well as just one block from Lake Davidson, where you can canoe, kayak, or simply stroll along the water’s edge.
Visit at Various Times of Day
Before you make a big decision on where to live, visit the neighborhood at various times of day. Stop by morning, afternoon, and night to get a true feel for a community before taking the plunge into owning a new townhome. For example, if you visit Charlotte’s Lower South End during the day, you might find people out walking their dog, stopping by the coffee shop to get some work done, or hitting a workout class. But go at night, and you’ll find breweries packed with locals enjoying the nightlife. Visiting at one time of day won’t give you the full view of your future neighborhood.
Reflect On Your Ideal Lifestyle and Priorities
Even more than transportation, activities, or investment, what matters most is your lifestyle and the way you see your day-to-day playing out. Reflect on your ideal lifestyle and what’s most important to you.
First, think about work. Do you need proximity to Uptown? Towns at Pegram or North End Terraces give you quick access to the city. Travel frequently for work or pleasure? Charlotte Douglas International Airport, the world’s 5th busiest airport, is a hop, skip, and jump away from LoSo Terraces, 5West Terraces, North End Terraces, Davidson Walk, Towns at Pegram, and The Nolen Townes.
Then consider your lifestyle. If the ability to grab a coffee, stop in a few shops, and take a stroll through a busy neighborhood sounds like your dream day, then any of these urban townhome communities could be right for you. But if you’re craving something quieter, then it may be time to look at Lake Norman area properties, like Davidson Walk. This community in Davidson offers a serene, idyllic setting with a vibrant downtown.
Think About Whether This Could Be an Investment Opportunity
Will you want to turn this home into a short term or long term rental in the future? When you invest in a luxury townhome community, you’re probably buying with your own quality of life in mind. You’re imagining yourself cooking dinners in your updated kitchen and entertaining in your modern living room. But priorities change and life can take you in different directions. You may not be ready to give up your property, and you want to look into leasing it to a short term or long term tenant. If this could be a possibility in the future, it’s important to consider it when looking into the right townhome communities.

How to Utilize Your Rooftop Terrace in Charlotte, NC
Outdoor living is one of the many perks of a townhome that features a “Rooftop Terrace” where you can enjoy the fresh air and an expansive view of your neighborhood and the city. Whether you’re hosting a barbecue during the dog days of summer, an al fresco dinner once the temperatures begin to drop in the fall, spending a cozy morning with a blanket and a cup of tea in the winter, or throwing spring’s first big soiree, a rooftop terrace in Charlotte, NC is truly a four-season living space.
But a rooftop terrace is only as functional as its setup, so make the most of your space by turning it into an area that you’re delighted to spend time in. From outfitting it with the proper furniture for the way you live to making sure there’s shade, adequate lighting for evening occasions, and even a few touches of greenery, here are 8 ways you can best utilize your rooftop terrace this summer and beyond.
1. Carve Out an Outdoor Seating and Dining Area
Outfit your outdoor space with furniture that will be the most functional for you, your family, and friends. Create a comfortable and inviting space with lounge chairs and sofas with outdoor cushions gathered around a giant coffee table, perfect for entertaining with a charcuterie board. Or, if you prefer to host dinner parties, opt for an outdoor dining table and chairs that will allow you to create that magical al fresco ambiance you’ve been dreaming of. And, of course, you can do both!
2. Create an Oasis with Greenery and Gardens
The sunny exposure of a rooftop terrace is perfect for growing plants, flowers, and herbs. Plus, they’ll add to a relaxing, serene atmosphere. Choose full sun-loving plants that grow well in containers, like citrus trees, lavender, basil, and succulents. You can also get creative with vertical, climbing gardens that make the most of your space. However, make sure to water your plants regularly since the sun exposure on a rooftop terrace can be intense, particularly on hot days.
3. Provide Shade and Privacy
Speaking of direct exposure to the sun, adding an umbrella can be a welcome respite on hot days. Spring for a table with an umbrella stand to give your rooftop a café-worthy look.
4. Install Lighting
Ambient lighting can elevate your rooftop terrace to feel like a chic hotel. Install string lights and lanterns to add that twinkly quality that not only lets you use your rooftop at night, but that makes it feel like a destination. Just imagine the lingering rooftop dinner parties you’ll host under the bistro lights.
5. Add Entertainment Options
Football season will be here soon and the only thing better than tailgating at the stadium is inviting friends over to watch the game on your rooftop terrace. You have all the benefits of the crisp fall air but with immediate access to your fridge. Install an outdoor entertainment area with a TV, sound system, and lounge seating, and you’ll be ready for every sporting event and movie night alike.
6. Dedicate a Yoga or Exercise Space
Outdoor yoga, stretching, or exercise is one of those pleasures in life that makes a weekday or weekend morning feel relaxing and indulgent. With fresh air and birds chirping, a down dog becomes an almost meditative experience. And all you need to create that feeling at home is an area on your rooftop terrace just big enough for a yoga mat. Keep a small outdoor trunk on your rooftop where you store various exercise equipment and you’ll always be ready to move.
7. Make a Cozy Relaxation Zone
Whether it’s a sunny spring morning or a chilly winter afternoon, relaxing on the rooftop terrace with a good book and a cup of tea instantly transports you to vacation mode. Make your own cozy relaxation zone by adding a few outdoor throw pillows and dedicating one blanket that you always use outdoors.
8. Work From Home on the Rooftop
If you work from home, there’s no reason not to take your WFH setup outside on a beautiful day. Grab your laptop and take a seat at your dining table, or get comfortable on your outdoor sectional transforming it into your own personal office. Have an extension cord handy in case you need to plug in.
